Ajarmah said that the topic was not discussed with the head of the Lower
House Education and Youth Committee, Talib Al-Sarayrah, nor was a date set for
the elections.
On Wednesday, Sarayrah told Jo24 that Ajarmah had informed him that the
ministry would be holding the syndicate elections next spring.
Sarayrah said that the goal was for the syndicate to resume operations
like other professional unions in the Kingdom, and as such, elections for a new
council would be held.
The MP said that the ministry was awaiting a decision from the Council
of Ministers regarding teachers affected by early retirement, after Minister of
Education Azmi Mahafzah addressed the Cabinet concerning this issue.
The Lower House committee will discuss the topic with the Minister of
Education during an upcoming meeting, Sarayrah said, expressing hopes that a
decision would be made to reactivate the syndicate and its branches across Jordan’s
governorates.
