stages and will soon be executed.

The system, which aims to reduce prices of oil derivatives
and increase competition between companies, has been under study by the
Ministry of Energy in Jordan, according to a source at the ministry.
Reducing prices and boosting competitionAccording to Akel, the implementation of a price ceiling
system would result in a relative reduction of prices and an increase in
competition between companies.
This competition would be in the form of offers to attract
citizens to purchase from them, ultimately benefiting the consumers, Jo24,
reported.
The government, he said, will set a price ceiling, which no
company would be permitted to sell above. This would encourage companies to
compete to sell at the lowest price, resulting in a price difference between
companies that will be advantageous for consumers.
Committee formedA source from the Ministry of Energy said that the ministry
has formed a committee to study the implementation mechanism and set up its own
system in preparation for execution.
This committee is currently developing the executive
instructions for the system and will be finalized soon.
