AMMAN – The
Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced that Jordan’s consumption of petroleum derivatives
decreased by 5 percent in 2023, totaling over 3.561 billion liters, compared to
approximately 3.742 billion liters in 2022.

In response to inquiries,
the ministry revealed that diesel witnessed the largest decline,
dropping by 6 percent, with sales volume reaching over 1.776 billion liters, compared to more
than 1.895 billion liters in 2022, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Demand for regular
90-octane gasoline decreased by 4 percent
in 2023, resulting in sales of over 1.640 billion liters, compared to 1.703
billion liters in 2022.
Meanwhile, demand for premium
95-octane gasoline increased
by 1 percent, reaching a sales volume of approximately 145 million liters in
2023, compared to 143 million liters in 2022.
