During a visit by Maj. Gen. Jalal Al-Qudah, the
director-general of the department, Colonel Salem Al-Shaloul, the center's
director, revealed that the center successfully managed the arrival of the
travelers, who arrived in 11,000 vehicles, within a span of just two days.
The total number of arrivals throughout the past week
reached 69,000 passengers, arriving on board 19,000 vehicles.
Qudah stressed the importance of providing necessary
facilitations for all users, including Jordanian citizens returning for the Eid
Al-Adha holiday and neighboring country residents.
Enhancing workflow and services
Qudah thoroughly examined the operations and services
provided at the Al-Omari Border Customs Center. He listened attentively to a
detailed presentation delivered by Shaloul regarding the handling of the rising
influx of arrivals from Gulf countries.
To meet the surge in arrivals coinciding with the end of the
school year in Gulf countries and the upcoming Eid Al-Adha holiday, an
emergency plan was put into action. The center collaborated closely with
relevant authorities and security agencies to ensure smooth customs and
humanitarian services for all visitors.
Efficiency through increased capacity
Shaloul emphasized that the center extended working hours
and augmented the number of staff members to accommodate the growing demand.
The integration of efforts across shifts allowed the center
to operate at full capacity, delivering customs and humanitarian services
efficiently. This concerted endeavor resulted in the provision of an
exceptional number of services within a remarkably short timeframe.
