Bethlehem – On behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Farayah attended the Midnight Mass for Christmas, celebrated by Christian denominations following the Eastern Orthodox calendar, at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem last night.

In his address during the mass, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City and All Palestine and Jordan, thanked and expressed appreciation to His Majesty the King for his continuous support for all churches in Jordan and Palestine.
He also commended His Majesty’s efforts in establishing the International Orthodox University at the site of the Baptism in the Jordan River.
The Patriarch also expressed gratitude to Minister Al-Farayah for representing His Majesty at this significant occasion.
Patriarch Theophilos III made an appeal to world leaders to work towards ending the ongoing conflict in the Holy Land and the broader Middle East region.
The mass was attended by Ramzi Khoury, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and head of the Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, representing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, as well as Jordan’s Ambassador to Palestine, Issam Al-Badur.
