Minister of State for Media Affairs and official spokesperson for the
government, Faisal Al-Shboul, said that the number of COVID-19 infections in
Jordan has risen to 193,000 active cases, and there is no way to confirm that those
people are self-isolating or in quarantine at home, according to Khabarni.

Shboul said that
the only way to confront the epidemic is through vaccines, adding that the
percentage of those who received the vaccine from in the target group 18 years
and above has reached 70 percent, which is considered a good percentage.
Shboul said that
the number of infections in the last three days indicates that the wave has
started to subside, noting that three weeks ago hospital admissions reached 4
percent of infected cases, while during the last week the rate dropped to 1.5
percent.
However, despite
the high infection rates, this wave has not been as life-threatening as the
previous wave, according to Shboul. Occupancy rate at hospitals during this
wave did not exceed 30 percent, he said.
