Operations and Control: 30,000 Calls Received on 911 Since the Morning of Eid
The emergency hotline 911 received approximately 30,000 calls from the morning of Eid al-Fitr until 6:00 PM on the second day of the holiday. Captain Mohammad Al-Duwida, Head of the Complaints Branch at the Operations and Control Directorate, stated in an interview with "Public Security Radio" that all these calls were promptly responded to by the Directorate’s operations and control teams (call responders). He added that 10,000 of these calls were forwarded to various departments of the Public Security Directorate, and appropriate actions were taken by the relevant units. He explained that the majority of the calls involved civil defense and medical cases, with 2,900 emergency calls for ambulance services, resulting in the transfer of patients to hospitals across the Kingdom.
