AMMAN — More than 137,799 public and
private school teachers and 35,280 administrators started the school year on
Wednesday, a week before the official start of the 2022–2023 academic year,
according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

Textbooks are handed over to students, those transferred are registered,
and the school organizes volunteer student and scout teams to help deliver
textbooks and guide new students during the period August 24 to August 30.
Of the total number of teachers, 93,469 work in public schools; of the
administrators, 20,154 work in public schools, according to the Ministry of
Education.
Secretary-General
for
Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Education Najwa
Qabilat said on Tuesday that 7,500 students have transferred from private
schools to public schools so far, while 10,000 are still on waiting lists,
adding that the Ministry of Education “may resort to the evening shift to
accommodate them”.
