AMMAN — More than 9.226
million doses of the
coronavirus vaccine have been given in Jordan since the start
of the vaccination campaign, according to Alsaa.net.

Of these, around 4.6 million were
first doses and around 4.2 million second doses; 420,000 people received the
third dose, according to Health Ministry's Secretary-General of Epidemiological
Affairs
Adel Al-Balbisi.
Balbisi said that 71 percent of the
population was given the first dose, and 65 percent received the two doses.
Since the announcement of the Defense
Order 35 on November 25, 2021, 474,647 first vaccine doses have been given, while
second vaccine doses reached 508,680 doses.
The new defense order stipulates
that neither public sector nor private sector employees may be allowed to work
unless they receive both doses of vaccine and that the days in which they do
not work because they are not vaccinated will be deducted from their annual
leave balance.
No person over 18 is allowed to enter
the premises of ministries, government departments, public institutions, or any
private sector facility unless he/she has received two doses of the vaccine.
Exception make those who visit hospitals and health centers for emergencies.
