AMMAN -Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr.
Wajih Owais, affirmed the ministry's support for the establishment of a technical university affiliated with the Arab Academics and Scientists Union (AASU).

Speaking at a meeting on Thursday, with an AASU delegation, Owais highlighted the importance of this project, which is needed by the Arab higher education network to move to technical and professional sciences.
Owais also noted the ministry will provide the facilitations that will enable the AASU to implement this project, and support it in all its activities and conferences, scheduled to be held in the future.
Noting the AASU's role, the minister pointed to the importance of these international and Arab conferences that enhance scientific and knowledge exchange at the Arab and global levels.
The meeting also went over AASU's plans in the training and development fields, which are slated to kick off soon, and ways of cooperation with the ministry in this regard, according to an AASU statement.
At the end of the meeting, the AASU delegation presented its shield to the Minister of Higher Education, in appreciation of his efforts in supporting Arab scientific and research activities.
