AMMAN — Prime Minister
Bisher Khasawneh on Tuesday held talks with
Palestinian Transport Minister Assem Salem, stressing the "special
historical and brotherly" relations between the people of Jordan and
Palestine, which His Majesty
King Abdullah and Palestinian president Mahmoud
Abbas are keen to enhance.

Khasawneh reiterated Jordan's strong
support for the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state
along the June 4, 1967, lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Jordan, Khasawneh stressed, stands
with the Palestinians with all its abilities and expertise to help their
steadfastness and the restoration of their legitimate rights.
The Palestinian minister commended
the Kingdom's support and underlined the historical, deep-rooted, ties.
"We take pride in our relations
with Jordan, which is our gateway to the outside world," he said, highlighting
the technical support offered by Jordan to many Palestinian ministries and
institutions.
The Palestinian minister said that
his ministry is interested in benefiting from Jordan's expertise in transport and
the use of smart applications, and relevant legislation.
Attending the meeting was
Minister of Transport Wajeeh Azaizeh.
