The Prime Minister extended his sympathies to the families of the deceased "in this painful event that struck us all with profound sorrow," wishing the injured a speedy recovery and safe return home.
Khasawneh stressed the need for closer cooperation and coordination between the various bodies, commending their efforts "starting from the moment they learned about the deaths and injuries among the pilgrims."
He noted coordination between the Ministries of Waqf and Islamic Affairs and Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Jordanian Embassy in Riyadh, the Jordanian Consulate in Jeddah, the Ministry of Interior, and security agencies, "who acted promptly, professionally and responsibly, and are still engaged and following up on the condition of the injured in Saudi hospitals and the missing people."
The Prime Minister asked ministries and competent authorities to provide information needed by the public prosecution in their investigations, stressing full confidence in the Jordanian judiciary's integrity and independence.
During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed by concerned officials about measures that were taken to deal with the issue, check on the condition of the injured in Saudi hospitals and search for the missing in coordination with Saudi authorities.
