AMMAN –
Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh held separate meetings with the CEO of the Australian company Fortescue, Mark
Hutchinson, and the CEO of the German company Enertrag, Gunnar Herzig, in Dubai
on Sunday to discuss the investments that the two companies plan to establish
in Jordan in the field of green hydrogen and green ammonia.

According to Al-Mamlaka TV, the meetings took
place within the framework of his participation in the
United Nations Climate Change Conference (
COP28) currently being held in Dubai, in the presence of
Minister of Environment Muawieh Radaideh.
Khasawneh emphasized that Jordan is keen on
investments in renewable energy sectors, which the country has been
increasingly relying on. He noted that the contribution of
renewable energy reached 27 percent of Jordan's electricity by the end of 2022.
Khasawneh affirmed the government's support
for this investment in a globally emerging industry, stating that Jordan seeks
to become a key center in the region for the production of
green hydrogen. He
highlighted the importance of these investments in enhancing economic
development and providing job opportunities for the Jordanian youth.
