AMMAN— Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh on Sunday inaugurated
a cardiac catheterization unit at the Specialized Surgery Hospital at the Al-Bashir
Hospital complex, according to Al-Ghad daily.

The Specialized Surgery Hospital was
opened early in July but the
unit was planned to become operational three months later.
Earlier in July, the premier ordered stakeholders to speed up the
process and ensure that the unit began operations within a 45-day period.
So far, some six cardiac catheterization surgeries have been
conducted at the hospital.
For his part,
Health Minister Firas Al-Hawari said that the
Specialized Surgery Hospital is a state-of-the-art JD7.5 million clinic,
specializing in thoracic vascular, catheter, and heart surgery, and that it
will also serve as a referral hospital and a training facility for
cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons.
