Implemented by the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) and the Ideal Development for Manufacturing Industries Corporation, the $85-million project aims at washing large quantities of low-quality phosphates accumulated over decades, extracting and reproducing high-quality phosphate in line with the requirements of the JPMC, its clients and importers.
Khasawneh spoke about the project's benefits in developing our national economy and employing Jordanian youth by providing operational windows in which priority is given to local community members, as well as what it embodies of an authentic and fruitful partnership between the public and private sectors.
The prime minister stressed that "the comparative advantage of such projects is that they deal with the governorates in the Kingdom according to their advantages in terms of resources and capabilities, investing them in the best ways, and diversifying them, which creates an integrated state of sustainable development towards self-reliance."
During his visit to the southern governorate, in the presence of Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs, Ibrahim Jazi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the JPMC Mohammad Thneibat, JPMC CEO Abdulwahab Rawad and President of the General Union for Workers in Mining Industries Khaled Fanatseh, Khasawneh stressed that the venture comes as a translation of the royal visions and directives to strengthen the role of the private sector and enable it to contribute to the advancement of the national economy.
