AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh met with the US
President's Special Envoy for Climate Affairs John Kerry, on Thursday to
discuss the cooperation between Jordan and the US in addressing the challenges
posed by climate change.

The meeting, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, was
attended by Minister of Environment Muawiya Radaydah, and focused on the
significance of supporting international and regional projects aimed at
overcoming these challenges, particularly in relation to water and environmental
issues.
COP28 importanceDuring the discussions, both Khasawneh and Kerry emphasized
the necessity of the upcoming COP28 Climate Summit, scheduled to be hosted by
the UAE in November.
The summit, which will gather world leaders and experts, was
recognized as a crucial platform for addressing global climate concerns.
Expressing his gratitude, Khasawneh thanked the US for its
support in assisting Jordan in tackling climate-related challenges, especially
those affecting water resources and the environment.
