AMMAN — Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh received the 2022 report of the National Commission for International Humanitarian Law on Thursday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra,
reported.
The PM was briefed by the commission's
chairman, retired Lt. Gen. Mamoun Khasawneh, on the commission’s activities,
which aim to consolidate the principles and provisions of international humanitarian law.
The commission also holds specialized
workshops to raise awareness and define ways to implement the law at the
national level, in addition to exchanging expertise with brotherly countries in
this field.
The commission has contributed to introducing amendments to some Jordanian laws, and to launching a course for teaching at law faculties in Jordanian universities.

raising awareness and spreading international humanitarian law in cooperation
with official institutions.
The premier also said he will instruct relevant ministries and government institutions to cooperate with the committee to
enable it to perform its role and duties more fully.
In addition, the PM stressed the importance of strengthening plans and strategies that aim to spread international humanitarian
law, and mechanisms that help implement these strategies on the national level.
