PSD Director Discusses Cooperation at SOFEX
Amman - Major General Obaidallah Maaytah, Director of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), held discussions with various police delegations during the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) 2024.اضافة اعلان

The meetings focused on enhancing bilateral relations, strengthening cooperation frameworks, and exploring new areas of partnership.

Maaytah and the Director General of the Rwanda National Police signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize cooperation in several police fields, particularly in the exchange of training expertise.

Another agreement was signed with the Qatari Lekhwiya Force to collaborate on training, capacity building, and expertise sharing.

During the event, Maaytah met with police delegations from numerous countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Palestine, the United States, Italy, France, Spain, Brazil, and Rwanda, as well as the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.

Maaytah expressed his gratitude to the delegations for their participation in this international event hosted by Aqaba, highlighting the PSD’s commitment to fostering international cooperation in line with royal directives.

He emphasized the importance of a participatory approach to addressing emerging global challenges, such as cross-border crime and drug-related offenses, and stressed the value of exchanging expertise, especially in the areas of training, technology, and security.

Delegation leaders praised the warm reception and the opportunity to engage with other nations’ experiences in security and training. They expressed their desire for expanded collaboration with the PSD, building on existing partnerships and advancing efforts in police and security work.
