AMMAN — Director of the Public Security Department (PSD) Maj. Gen
Hussain Hawatmeh met with senior British police officers in London, according
to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Hawatmeh, who is on a working visit to the UK, discussed ways to enhance
cooperation and strategic partnership between the police forces of the two
countries, especially exchanging expertise and experience, and building technical
and training capabilities.
During the first day of the visit,
Hawatmeh was briefed on strategic and operational plans used to manage the
security operation in the UK, mechanisms for responding to accidents, major
security incidents and tasks carried out by the British police.
The PSD chief and the accompanying
delegation also toured the London Police operations and control room, examining
the technology used in providing emergency services and its working mechanisms.
Hawatmeh lauded the
"solid" ties between Jordan and the UK, which are reflected in the
level of cooperation between the two police agencies, especially in sharing
best practices and using modern police sciences to develop the security system
and community services.
Hawatmeh, who is accompanied by
senior PSD officers, is visiting the UK for several days, during which he will
meet with UK police officials and law enforcement institutions in the British
government.
