AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) Chief, Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh, stressed the importance of continued efforts to develop all PSD's security and humanitarian services provided to citizens and strengthen the rule of law, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Speaking to senior PSD officers on Thursday, Hawatmeh was briefed on key "strategic" plans and projects to develop the PSD's operations in all fields.
Hawatmeh also conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah II's pride in the PSD's efforts and their active role in assisting citizens and protecting lives and property.
In implementing Royal directives, he stressed the need to "optimally" use resources and maintain an assessment of PSD's administrative, operational, and training plans and strategies to ensure improved security performance.
Hawatmeh stressed the need to achieve the "highest" standards of integrity and transparency in security and traffic services and provide the necessary logistical support to all PSD field units to perform their duties optimally.
At the PSD's level, he directed senior officers to pay attention to providing the most appropriate stimulating work environment for the directorate's personnel and launch training plans to meet their needs.
In addition, he stressed the need to outreach to local communities and prepare security and social studies to address the key crime phenomena.
