AMMAN—The Public Security Directorate (
PSD) this week has dealt with 150 cases of trafficking and promotion of narcotic substances, and arrested 294 traffickers who were all referred to the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

A spokesman for the PSD Amer Al-Sartawi said on Thursday, that from 11/17/2022 until 11/23/2022, 210 kg of narcotic hashish, two million pills of Captagon and 4,000 narcotic pills were also seized in those cases, in addition to 600 grams of narcotic crystal, a set of seedlings of narcotic marijuana, and a set of
The Drug Enforcement Administration admitted 18 cases to drug addiction treatment center during the same period.
Sartawi added that the Anti-Narcotics Department is vigorously continuing its qualitative operations to pursue all forms of dealing with narcotic substances, under the directives of the security leaders, without tolerance.
The Drug Enforcement Administration carried out 50 awareness-raising activities this week, including lectures, workshops, and seminars, in partnership with the relevant authorities and partners.
The media spokesman stressed that anti-drug operations and security campaigns of the Kingdom are to be firmly maintained in pursuing and blocking anyone who tries to deal with narcotic substances, weather for abuse, promotion and trafficking, adding the PSD will dedicate all its capabilities for that.
