PSD issues warning about expected heat wave

AMMAN — The media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate on Friday announced measures people can take given the heat that is expected to roll into the Kingdom, according to Al-Ghad news. The spokesman urged people to take the following steps to stay safe in the heat.اضافة اعلان

Avoid direct exposure to sunlight to minimize the risk of heat stroke and heat stress.

Drink plenty of fluids and wear light and loose-fitting clothes.

Do not leave sterilizers inside vehicles because they contain flammable materials.

Do not leave children alone inside vehicles while running errands, and do not allow them to play outside for long periods of time.

Wear protective head coverings and hats and take an occasional break, especially for people whose work requires staying under direct sunlight for long periods.

Not to set fire to weeds, especially in forested areas, and stay away from dense weeds that are a hotbed for scorpions and snakes.

 Lastly, do not hesitate to call the unified emergency phone (911) if the need arises.
