Amman- Palestinians welcome the New Year amid international silence on Israel's genocide that has been going on for over 14 months, says the Higher Presidential Committee of Churches in Palestine.

The occupation government is waging a campaign of extermination against the Palestinian people, killing women, children and elderly, and targeting all essentials of life in the Gaza Strip, primarily the health system, committee chairman Ramzi Khouri said in a statement.
It cited ongoing attacks on hospitals, including Kamal Adwan, Indonesian and Al-Wafa hospitals, and other health facilities that have been targeted or destroyed.
In its "unprecedented" war on the health sector, Israeli occupation forces killed 1,068 medical staff and arrested hundreds, destroyed 34 hospitals and 242 health facilities, targeted 136 ambulances and blocked medicines and medical supplies from the besieged Strip, said the statement.
"The occupation (army) has turned the Gaza Strip into hell, destroying the infrastructure, committing about 10,000 massacres in which 57,000 people were killed and 108,000 injured, devastating 1,413 families, displacing 90 percent of Gza's population displaced and destroying most of homes and facilities," it said.
It also referred to attempts to dismantle UNRWA, the lifeline of Palestinian refugees, as well as the ongoing siege on Gaza, the destruction of homes and turning tents into graves.
