AMMAN – The Chairman of the National Guidance and
MediaParliamentary Committee, Dr. Ismael Al-Mashaqbeh, stated that the committee
will study plans and strategies related to the state of
media and culture.

According to Al-Ghad newspaper, they will discuss the
challenges and difficulties facing local journalism, as well as ways to rescue
print newspapers from
financial crisis.
Additionally, they will explore mechanisms to support
cultural activities and the role of the Jordanian Writers Association.
This came during his chairmanship of a committee meeting
held on Sunday, where they discussed the committee's working mechanism for the
upcoming period.
Al-Mashaqbeh explained that the committee's work is based on
two main pillars, legislative and oversight. In the legislative aspect, the
committee will examine the laws referred to it by the parliament. In the
oversight aspect, the committee will hold several meetings with relevant
stakeholders and experts to discuss any topics falling within the scope of
"
Parliament Media."
He also mentioned that the committee will carry out field
visits to observe the work of various media sectors.
