Jordanian Astronomical Society Ammar Al-Sakji said that the world will witness a partial
solar eclipse on October 25, according to Ammon News.

He added that the partial eclipse begins in Amman at
12:59pm, as the moon gradually begins to block the sun’s disk, and will peak at
2:13pm.
The maximum occultation rate of the
sun reaches 34.8
percent, after which the partial eclipse begins to decline gradually until it
ends at 3:23pm, Sakji said.
He warned of the danger of looking directly at the
sun’s disk during the eclipse, which may severely damage the retina due to the
ingress of various radiations (visible light, and ultraviolet and infrared
rays) that may cause temporary or permanent blindness.
He also warned against the use of sunglasses of all
kinds — X-ray sheets, welding glass, automobile tarnish papers, or manufactured
glasses — that are not up to global standards, which could be very harmful, and
called for the use of eclipse glasses only, which are designated for such
astronomical phenomena.
