The ministry, in collaboration with the Public
Security Directorate (PSD), will implement traffic diversions on Airport Road,
with closure in both directions and diversion to the service road starting from
midnight on Saturday, March 30, 2024, until the following morning, Al-Mamlaka
TV reported.
These diversions include Closure no. 1, where
traffic from the south heading towards Amman will be redirected at the exit
leading to Amman Development Corridor to Tannib Bridge. Drivers will then turn
around over the bridge and return via the service road towards Amman, exiting
from the service road via the first exit after the location of the pedestrian
bridge to be installed.
Another diversion, Closure no. 2, will
redirect traffic coming from Amman Development Corridor to the service lane before Tannib Bridge
towards Amman. Drivers will return to Airport Road via the first exit to the service
road after the location of the pedestrian bridge, while traffic heading to
Queen Alia Airport Road and southern governorates remains unaffected.
Closure no. 3 involves diverting traffic from
Amman towards the south to the service lane, exiting from the service road via
the designated exit after the location of the pedestrian bridge.
Completion of all works and the resumption of
traffic on the road are expected by the morning of Saturday, March 30, 2024.
The ministry has equipped the diversion site with all necessary safety
measures.
