According to a ministry's press statement on Thursday, Shraideh called on the Danish side to increase support provided to Jordan and "best" benefit from the Arab-Danish Partnership Program during the coming period, and focus on economic and employment opportunities programs, in addition to increasing assistance to Jordan's government to implement its priorities and development plans.
Shraideh stressed the importance of supporting Jordan's economy through investment and expanding joint trade volume.
Discussions also went over the region's current situation and ways to enhance bilateral relations, the statement said.
Shraideh briefed the Danish minister on Jordan's economic situation efforts to increase growth and employment rates for Jordanians, as well as the challenges facing the government and its development and economic priorities for the next stage.
The Danish delegation's visit to the Kingdom aims to discuss with Jordanian officials issues of common interest , such as the Syrian refugee crisis in neighboring countries and its repercussions on the Kingdom, as well as Amman's efforts to host a large number of Syrian refugees, and check firsthand on conditions of Syrian refugees and host communities, the statement added.
According to the statement, Shraideh called on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the refugee-hosting countries, especially Jordan, in light of the "noticeable" decrease in the amount of donors' assistance provided to the Jordan Response Plan (JRP) to the Syrian crisis during the past two years.
In this regard, Shraideh called on Denmark's support to urge the international community to provide "sufficient" funding to support JRP 2021.
The Danish minister, for his part, affirmed the "deep-rooted" relations with Jordan, and expressed his understanding of the additional burdens on Jordan's government.
Mortensen also voiced his country's readiness to continue supporting Jordan and searching for additional ways to strengthen bilateral relations, especially with regard to the issue of Syrian refugees in the region.
Mortensen lauded Jordan's humanitarian role in receiving and hosting
