AMMAN--Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh met with Deputy Administrator for Policy and Programming at USAID Isobel Coleman, and discussed with her the U.S. support for the National Water Carrier Project, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In a statement on Thursday, Shraideh called on the U.S. side to provide more support for the project due to its positive developmental impact on the Kingdom.
He briefed the U.S. side on the Aqaba-Amman desalination and water transport project and measures taken in this regard to implement the venture, indicating the government's contribution to support the project in order to ensure its success and achieve its desired goals in terms of covering the deficit in water demand and providing water at a reasonable and appropriate price for citizens.
Expressing a long-term support, the U.S. official affirmed that her country will remain committed to supporting the Jordanian government and its people in order to enhance the stability and prosperity of the Kingdom.
