AMMAN — The police’s Traffic Department has called on citizens to avoid driving long distances during peak heat hours, to use reverse gear instead of the brakes when reducing speed, and to check tire pressure, especially of freight vehicles, according to Jo24.

It warned that using the brakes for long periods during a heat wave may lead to overheating and setting the vehicle on fire.

It indicated that tires are most vulnerable to damage (puncture) due to friction and the expansion of air inside when temperatures are high. اضافة اعلان
