AMMAN — Prime Minister
Bisher Al-Khasawneh expressed condolences and
sympathy over the passing away, on Wednesday, of former minister and head of
the
Royal Hashemite Court Adnan Abu Odeh, according to Jordan News Agency,
Petra.

Khasawneh recalled Abu Odeh’s great services
and efforts, and his political, intellectual and cultural contributions over
decades, in the various positions he held: minister of culture and information
more than once, minister of tourism and antiquities, Royal Court chief,
political advisor to His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal (may his soul rest in
peace), head of the Royal Hashemite Court, and Jordan’s permanent
representative to the UN.
Abu Odeh, recipient of the Order of Al-Istiqlal (Independence) of
the First Degree, was a member of the Senate for three terms between 1974 and
1997, and a member of the Jordanian National Consultative Council. He also
worked as an advisor to His Majesty
King Abdullah.
