Power outage hits Amman, governorates

AMMAN — Blackouts were reported across Amman and the governorates on Friday.

An official source told Jordan News that a power cable connecting Jordan and Egypt was severed and work is underway to fix it. اضافة اعلان

Electricity distribution companies on Friday blamed the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) for the outage.

According to the NEPCO website, Jordan is interconnected with Egypt's power grid via a submarine cable in the south, across the Gulf of Aqaba.
