Abu Haidar added that the government has failed to supply
JD5 million for distribution to operators and drivers, which they promised in
subsidies, reported Jo24 News.
These
subsidies were promised with the intent to alleviate
the damage caused by
rising fuel prices.
He noted that there are approximately 11,400 taxis operating
within the borders of Amman, as well as about 3,000 service vehicles and 6,000
medium transport buses. None of these have received transportation subsidies,
despite their disbursement in other governorates.
Abu Haidar also called on the government to
halt the operation of illegal mobile applications, which operate thousands of vehicles.
He described the sector as being in its worst state, having
reached a point of exhaustion due to chaos and
lack of organization.
