The Prime Minister commended the progress made by the Public Security Directorate in utilizing modern technology to serve citizens.
The Prime Minister also reviewed the Directorate’s plans for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

Amman, February 23 (Petra) - Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan visited the Public Security Directorate on Sunday and met with the Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Obaidallah Al-Maaytah.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the Directorate’s key orientations, future plans, and the major updates it has undergone to develop the security system and civil protection network. He also reviewed the plans the Directorate has made in preparation for the approaching Ramadan.
The Prime Minister praised the developments the Directorate has made in recent years, particularly in terms of effectiveness, flexibility, and keeping up with the latest changes. These improvements reflect the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II in advancing security services. He also commended the efforts of all personnel in the Public Security Directorate, including the police, civil defense, and gendarmerie, in maintaining community security and safety.
He emphasized the need to continue strengthening collaboration between the Public Security Directorate and various ministries and government institutions, working together to enforce the law, serve citizens, and protect both public and private properties.
In turn, Major General Al-Maaytah affirmed the Directorate's commitment to translating the royal directives and the government’s vision into action, constantly updating and enhancing working mechanisms according to specific strategies. These strategies are focused on pursuing crime while improving security and humanitarian services.
He appreciated the continuous support provided by the government to the Directorate in various areas, which has been crucial in elevating security services, civil defense, and integrating the latest technologies into police sciences and civil protection systems. This has significantly contributed to ensuring the highest levels of security for citizens and promoting a sense of reassurance while reducing crime and its negative impact on society.
Al-Maaytah further explained that the Directorate continues to coordinate with all relevant authorities, especially the Greater Amman Municipality, to devise plans and solutions to address traffic problems and accidents across the Kingdom. The aim is to maintain the security and safety of citizens through strategies that focus on developing preventive measures against crime.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Farrayeh and Amman Mayor Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, also visited the Operations and Control Directorate. They were briefed on the working systems, response mechanisms via the emergency hotline 911, and the use of modern technological systems within the Directorate.
The Prime Minister also listened to a briefing from the Director of the Planning Department about the main aspects of the Directorate's security strategy, its duties, key crime statistics, and future plans aimed at enhancing its capabilities and performance.
During his visit, the Prime Minister toured the Operations and Control Directorate, where he learned about the emergency call reception mechanisms, including the 114 service for the deaf and hard of hearing, the control rooms, and the use of CCTV surveillance systems, automatic security and traffic monitoring systems, license plate reading systems, and electronic bracelet monitoring.
He also received an explanation about the Directorate's drone unit, its duties, the types of drones used, and their role in contributing positively to the security and traffic systems, as well as plans for their future development.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Operations and Control Directorate and the progress it has made, especially the noticeable advancement in modern systems. He emphasized the importance of utilizing these systems to prevent violations against public service networks such as water, electricity, and street lighting. He also stressed the need to continue incorporating the latest technological systems to further improve security services.
