Amman - Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal inaugurated the 60th Annual Diplomatic Bazaar for Mabarrat Um Al Hussein, with the participation of 36 embassies and diplomatic missions in Jordan.

The event, which has become a cornerstone of international support for the charity, allocates all proceeds to aid vulnerable children and orphans under the care of the Um Al-Hussein Charity.
In her opening address, Princess Basma emphasized the significance of the bazaar, highlighting it as a beacon of global solidarity and support for children facing dire family circumstances.
"For decades, Mabarrat Um Al Hussein has been a safe haven for children in need, offering them not just shelter, but the opportunity to build a secure and hopeful future. This bazaar is a testament to our collective commitment to their well-being," she remarked.
The event was attended by several high-profile diplomats, including Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign for Diplomatic Affairs, Ambassador Majed Qatarneh, as well as numerous ambassadors and representatives from various diplomatic missions.
Princess Basma praised the ongoing partnership between the charity and the diplomatic community, noting that the event symbolizes both a humanitarian mission and a celebration of cultural diversity.
"This bazaar represents more than a fundraising effort; it is a vivid reminder of the global compassion that transcends borders, uniting us in support of these children."
Venezuelan Ambassador Omar Vielma Osuna, speaking on behalf of the diplomatic corps, lauded the enduring collaboration between the missions and the charity, emphasizing that the bazaar creates a unique platform for cultural exchange while supporting a noble cause.
"For sixty years, this event has been a bridge, not just between cultures, but between people committed to making a difference," he said.
Farah Daghistani, Executive Director of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), which oversees the charity, detailed recent accomplishments, including the expansion of the charity's student body from 33 to 45 children.
She also noted the continuous improvements made in the care services, including better access to education and health services for the children.
Daghistani highlighted that three students are preparing to enter university after successfully passing their Tawjihi exams, while others have participated in international competitions and cultural events.
The bazaar featured stalls from participating embassies, showcasing traditional crafts, foods, and cultural items, while offering a unique glimpse into the heritage of each nation. Folklore performances added to the vibrant atmosphere, further enriching the cultural experience for attendees.
Princess Basma toured the bazaar, engaging with embassy representatives and learning about their respective contributions to the event. She expressed her gratitude to the embassies and missions for their continued support of Mabarrat Um Al Hussein's mission to empower children through education and social services.
