Amman– The IEEE Student Branch at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) has won the IEEE Regional Award for Best Student Branch of 2024 in Region 8, which includes the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. اضافة اعلان

This achievement came after fierce competition among student branches from various countries in the region.

The branch earned this award due to its outstanding participation in activities aligned with the IEEE mission, making it a model of leadership and innovation.
In a statement on Sunday, PSUT President Dr. Wejdan Abu Elhaija congratulated the club's members, their academic supervisor Dr. Fadi Shahroori, and their administrative supervisor Manar Al-Shreideh.

She emphasized that this award reflects the creativity and excellence of the university's students and highlights the importance of extracurricular activities in preparing students for the workforce.

Dr. Shahroori, Assistant Dean of King Abdullah II School of Engineering, noted the university's rich technical and informational environment, which helps enhance students' skills in line with global technological advancements.

He highlighted that the faculty spares no effort in providing the club with access to state-of-the-art laboratories and technical equipment.

Dr. Rami Salem, Dean of Student Affairs, added that the university provides all necessary resources and support, both administrative and financial, to help students excel and develop their skills through participation in various enriching activities.

Club President Yusra Hassan expressed that the award is the result of years of dedicated efforts and collaboration, including contributions from last year’s club president, Omar Qutaishat.

She emphasized that the recognition demonstrates their ability to represent the university at local and international forums.
