Raeda Maaytah, Director of the Agriculture Directorate in the district, announced that the project provides grants to support small farmers, particularly in sustainable agriculture.
The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature and funded by the International Islamic Charity Organization.
Maaytah emphasized that the project aligns with the Ministry of Agriculture’s mission to advance the sector, contributing to national economic and social goals. The initiative seeks to promote food security by empowering small-scale farmers with resources and tools.
The directorate's Projects, Rural Development, and Women Empowerment Department played a key role in connecting small farmers with the project’s implementing body, ensuring they receive the necessary agricultural supplies to enhance their farming operations.
At the project’s opening, water irrigation networks were distributed to several small farmers. Additionally, the project plans to reclaim agricultural ponds and provide beekeepers in the region with hives to support bee raising and management in the near future.
