AMMAN — To better
combat cybercrime, the prosecutor general’s office has started to raise the
level of coordination with cybercrime unit at the Public Security Department
(
PSD).

According to
the Judicial Council’s secretariat general, the public prosecution, represented
by its chief attorney general, Youssef Thiabat. Thiabat met officers from the PSD’s
cybercrime unit on Wednesday to discuss raising the coordination mechanism between
them and strengthening means of cooperation in combating the issue.
Al-Thiabat
stressed the presence of permanent and continuous cooperation between the
prosecution general and the cybercrimes unit, as it is the technical body that
works to provide the Public prosecution general with digital evidence through
which perpetrators are brought to justice.
