The event is organized under the patronage of the Royal Jordanian Equestrian Federation and in collaboration with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).
Brigadier General Omar Al-Jabour, Director of the Championship and Commander of the PSD Ceremonial Unit, stated that the event would be held under the patronage of HRH Princess Alia bint Al-Hussein, President of the Royal Jordanian Equestrian Federation.
He expressed gratitude for her support of the PSD team, which represents Jordan globally in the sport of tent pegging under the umbrella of the International Tent Pegging Federation.
Al-Jabour highlighted the championship’s dual significance, both as a major sporting event and as a celebration of Jordan’s cultural heritage.
He emphasized the historical roots of horsemanship in Jordan, which has been integral to the PSD since the country’s founding in 1921.
He also pointed to the growing global popularity of tent pegging and its importance to participating countries.
Al-Jabour assured that PSD, in coordination with ASEZA and other governmental entities in Aqaba, has taken all necessary measures to ensure the success of the event and to showcase Jordan and Aqaba as a safe and attractive destination for international cultural and sporting events.
Firas Al-Ajlouni, representing ASEZA, affirmed Aqaba’s readiness to host the championship.
He noted ASEZA’s commitment to positioning Aqaba as a vibrant tourist and cultural hub capable of hosting major international events.
The championship will take place at Aqaba’s southern beach and will feature participants from seven countries: Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, South Africa, Pakistan, and Germany.
