Representatives from the Traffic and External Patrols Departments of the Public Security Directorate confirmed that choosing the right time to travel helps reduce exposure to traffic congestion and minimizes the likelihood of accidents. They also emphasized that proper planning and adequate sleep significantly enhance road safety.

A representative from the External Patrols Department explained that the traffic situation on external roads is characterized by high activity, especially with freight vehicles and public transport buses. He stated that earlier this morning, a load of cement bags fell off a truck on the Mafraq-Zarqa road, near the "Sahl Al-Dabe" station heading towards the Zarqa Governorate. Necessary actions were taken, and the road was reopened.
He also detailed some of the incidents dealt with over the past 24 hours, including a truck rollover accident on the Aqaba road, after the Wadi Al-Yetim Customs area, heading towards Amman. The truck, which was loaded with corn, caused an obstruction in the left lane due to the fallen cargo, and necessary measures were taken.
Additionally, a collision occurred on the Desert Highway, resulting in a fatality, and a rollover accident on the Mafraq-Zarqa road, which led to three moderate injuries, and the injured were transferred to Mafraq Government Hospital.
He pointed out that the causes of these accidents, according to the Traffic Department, were sudden lane changes and improper handling of curves.
The representative from the External Patrols Department mentioned that a number of dangerous moving violations were addressed, including speeding detected by patrols, as well as sudden lane changes and the failure of freight vehicles to use the right lane.
On her part, a representative from the Traffic Department confirmed full preparedness to handle the morning traffic activity within their jurisdiction. She added that this morning, a collision between two vehicles occurred after the "Bahaus" intersection towards Khalda. The crash was caused by close-following, and the traffic impact was managed with the vehicles removed, with no effect on the morning traffic flow.
She also highlighted that despite ongoing warnings about avoiding violations and improper behaviors, a 12-year-old unlicensed driver was caught driving a vehicle. Legal action will be taken against both the driver and the vehicle owner. She urged the public to use pedestrian crossings and overpasses to avoid pedestrian accidents.
In a humanitarian instance, Traffic Officers assisted a lost 5-year-old child seen near the King Hussein Cancer Center, who was at risk of being hit by a vehicle as he was walking alone in the street. The child was safely returned to his family.
The representatives from the Traffic and External Patrols Departments called on drivers to adhere to traffic rules and priorities, comply with speed limits, avoid dangerous violations, refrain from distractions while driving, and ensure students are dropped off at designated areas to prevent accidents and maintain traffic flow. They also urged the public to contact the emergency number 911 if needed, assuring full readiness to assist those in need at any time.
