Public Works Minister, ILO representatives discuss cooperation
Amman - Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abu Al-Samen, and representatives of the International Labor Organization (ILO) discussed ways to enhance cooperation in technical support and implementation of training programs in road asset management and maintenance.اضافة اعلان

According to a ministry statement on Wednesday, Abu Al-Samen expressed appreciation for the ILO's efforts to provide the necessary support to the ministry, coordination and partnership to provide technical support directed to the maintenance of roads in the Kingdom, and the development of the road asset management system in the ministry.

Abu Al-Samen said that the intensive labor project contributes significantly to advancing local development by providing job opportunities that reflect positively on communities economically and socially, as well as providing an opportunity to train and qualify young people.

For his part, Shailendra Kumar, Technical Director of the Intensive Employment Program for Infrastructure in Jordan, expressed the ILO's readiness for further cooperation with the ministry, pointing out that the main objective is to provide technical competencies capable of developing the ministry's road network in accordance with the best green environmental standards for road sustainability, safety, and job opportunities for citizens.

The intensive employment project is one of the projects implemented by the ILO, funded by the German government through the German Development Bank, to implement green and sustainable projects.

Through the project, the ILO provides vocational training and entrepreneurship programs that improve the chances of beneficiaries entering the labor market and employment through a group of partners.
