AMMAN — Former deputy Amjad Al-Maslamani warned the public of falling victim to a group of people impersonating tourism offices by using their logos on WhatsApp and media platforms, asking individuals wishing to travel to transfer money to personal accounts, Al-Ghad News reported.اضافة اعلان

Maslamani said in a post on Dallas Travel and Tourism Agency’s Facebook page on Saturday that the fraudulent group identifies travelers through the social media pages of tourism companies.

The group’s members pose as tourism company employees over WhatsApp, Facebook, and other platforms, answering customer queries and offering low prices in order to receive money transfers.

He called upon the public not to deal with such persons or with unauthorized offices, and not to transfer any sums of money — large or small — except to official accounts documented by banks and exchange companies.

He also encouraged the public to follow only the official pages of tourism companies.
