AMMAN — Queen Alia International
Airport (QAIA) welcomed 2.8 million passengers since the beginning of 2023, a
51 percent surge compared to the same period of 1.8 million in 2022, and 2.7
million in 2019.

In a statement on Thursday, chairman
of the Board of Commissioners at the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission,
Haitham Mesto, said aircraft movements through the airport recorded stability
last April, compared to March 2023, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
He added that the total number of
flights operated through QAIA has reached 23,7776 and 76 international
destinations, directly linked to the Kingdom.
In April 2023, he noted the number
of airport operated daily flights reached 224, compared to 176 and 191 during
the same months in 2022 and 2019.
