Doha – The general index of the Qatar Stock Exchange recorded a decline of 2.4% during last year's trading, closing at 10,571 points and incurring a loss of 259 points compared to its level at the end of 2023.اضافة اعلان

According to data published by the Qatar Stock Exchange website on Sunday, the market value of shares in the Qatar Stock Exchange at the end of 2024 amounted to approximately QAR 620.8 billion ($170.5 billion), a decrease of about 1% from the market value at the end of 2023, which was QAR 624.6 billion ($171.5 billion).

The decline in the Qatar Stock Exchange during 2024 was driven by a drop in the insurance sector index, which fell by 10.79%, exerting pressure on the year’s trading. Meanwhile, six sectors posted gains, led by the transport sector with an increase of 20.52%, followed by the real estate sector at 7.65%.

The consumer goods and services sector posted the smallest gain at 1.2%.
In terms of liquidity, trading volumes reached QAR 106.6 billion, with a total of 38.17 billion shares exchanged through 3.67 million transactions.

Throughout the year, trading occurred on the shares of 52 listed companies, with 20 companies seeing share price increases, while 32 companies experienced declines.
