AMMAN — The Qatari Ministry of Education has announced that
it is recruiting teachers for government schools for the upcoming academic year
2023-2024.

Applicants for these positions will be limited to residents
within Qatar and teachers from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, according to a
local media outlet.
12 specializationsThe ministry revealed that there are 12 specializations for
the vacant teaching positions in the country's government schools, including
physics, science, English language childhood, kindergarten, computer science,
literary path, visual arts, special education, chemistry, biology, English
language, and scientific path teachers.
General and specific conditions have been set for each
teacher's specialization.
The available positions are open to non-Qataris in various
educational specializations, but appointments for Qataris will be made through
the online platform of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.
Applicants from outside Qatar will be accepted only from
Jordanian teachers.
Requirements for applicantsAmong the requirements set by the Ministry for the required
positions, according to its website, is that the applicant must hold a
bachelor's degree in the required specialization through formal education, with
a GPA of no less than "good" for graduates of local universities in
Qatar, and a GPA of no less than "very good" for graduates of foreign
universities.
The applicant should have at least five years of experience
in the field of work in the required position in schools if they are graduates
of foreign universities, or three years of experience if they are graduates of
the College of Education or hold a teaching qualification. This condition does
not apply to graduates of Qatari universities and Qatar-born graduates of
foreign universities.
The Qatari Ministry of Education announced the start of
recruitment for the academic year 2023-2024 last November through its website,
including vacancies for Qataris and non-Qataris.
The ministry stated that it has appointed about
1,000 teachers from inside and outside the country during the current academic
year 2022–2023 as part of the internal and external recruitment process for teachers
to fill vacancies in government schools.
