AMMAN— Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad
Al-Thani is expected to arrive in Jordan on Tuesday to participate in the
second “Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership”, local media

An accompanying Qatari delegation has already arrived in
Amman on Monday. The delegation included Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin
Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The conference is being under the patronage of His Majesty
King Abdullah and in coordination with French President Emmanuel Macron and
Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani.
The decision for the Kingdom to host the conference was
decided in August 2021 in Baghdad.
A number of country leaders and representatives and regional
organizations are participating in the conference including Egypt, Saudi
Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, and Iran.
The Secretaries General of the GCC will be attending,
alongside representatives from the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation,
and the EU.
The conference is held to reaffirm support for Iraq, its
sovereignty, security, and stability, and to develop cooperation mechanisms
with it in a way that enhances security and stability and contributes to the
development process in the region.
The conference will be followed by an official visit by
French President Macron to the Kingdom.
