During her visit, Queen Rania discussed past initiatives and long-term goals with the society’s president, Amal Al-Mawasleh, and its board of directors, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

She also visited some of the society’s facilities and workshops, including the kitchen, counseling room, and sewing and fabric-recycling workshop, and browsed a selection of products made by the society’s beneficiaries.

Established in 2018, the Al-Nashmiyat Charitable Society for Women Empowerment aims to strengthen the role of Jordanian women in their communities and various sectors through economic empowerment projects and workshops. Its objectives include training Jordanian youth to become financially independent, supporting developmental, and educational projects, and providing underprivileged families with financial and non-financial assistance, among other goals.

The society has spearheaded several projects since its inception, including a sewing workshop that trained a group of 30 women and the establishment of an online counseling platform called “Dalili” run by 30 young men and women trained in providing psychosocial support.

It also established “Qalb Amman II”, a business development incubator with the objective of increasing youth’s employability and entrepreneurial skills.

In addition to these workshops and initiatives, the society distributes food packages to underprivileged households, clothes, wheelchairs, and medical supplies to people in need, and aid packages to Syrian refugees.

The society has entered several partnerships to expand its efforts, including one with the Jordan River Foundation to train 90 women in embroidery and extend them the opportunity to work from home for a period of one year.

The society’s fabric-recycling project, which trains a number of beneficiaries, is also currently being funded by the EU. The society is playing a significant role in enhancing the role of women in Jordan, particularly those in underprivileged areas, by providing them with the support and resources needed to become financially independent and active members of their communities.
