The children are the first group of a total of 41 cancer patients from
Gaza expected to be transferred to the center. Efforts will continue to bring
as many cancer patients from the Gaza Strip to Jordan as possible, in light of
the suspension of operations of Gaza’s only cancer hospital earlier this month.
Her Majesty was received at KHCC by Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida
Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center, as
well as Dr. Asem Mansour, KHCC Director General, and Nisreen Qatamish, KHCF
Director General.
Queen Rania met with the children and their families, and was briefed
by KHCC medical staff on the patients’ medical and emotional conditions. She
was also informed of the treatment protocols they will receive at the center,
which will include psychological support.
During the visit, Princess Ghida expressed her gratitude to the Queen
for her humanitarian efforts and directives to bring cancer patients suffering
extreme hardship in Gaza to Jordan.
