AMMAN — The general assembly of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) has elected Vice Chairman and CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines Samer Majali, as a member of the AACO’s executive committee.

The AACO chose members for its executive committee during the assembly’s 54th meeting held in Doha, Qatar, according to Ad-Dustour daily. The position is a three-year term.
The executive committee, with the participation of the AACO’s secretary-general, Abdul Wahab Tofaha, are supervising the organization’s work and discussing strategic issues of interest to Arab airlines, including joint cooperation programs, aircraft maintenance, fuel procurement, distribution methods, and information technology.
Royal Jordanian Airlines participated in the 54th general assembly meetings, along with other Arab airlines that are members of the AACO, as well as international bodies concerned with the aviation industry.
The executive committee consists of nine members, who are elected by the members of 33 Arab airlines. Royal Jordanian Airlines has been a member of the AACO since 1965.
