AMMAN— The
International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced the intention of
Royal Jordanian Airlines,
Qatar Airways,
Etihad Airways, Jazeera Airways, Jetstar and Qantas, to implement the IATA digital passport gradually across their airline networks, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

IATA Director General Willie Walsh said in a press statement on Wednesday, that the IATA passport is a health certificate that will enter the operational phase after months of testing, stressing that the passport has proven its effectiveness in managing and organizing health data for travelers, which governments around the world require.
He added that the major airlines in the world will soon provide the IATA passport application service for travelers, as it has proven it’s safe for travelers and can allow them to check the requirements of their flights through the application.
The application will reduce lines and congestion in airlines and airports, he added.
IATA has launched an application via mobile phones called IATA Passport, which provides information on travel requirements, imposed by the
COVID-19 pandemic, such as the results of PCR examinations or vaccine certificates.
IATA has launched an application via mobile phones called (IATA Travel Pass) that highlights a package of travel requirements, which help travelers present their verified travel health credentials (vaccine or test certificates) to meet COVID-19 entry restrictions, while more than 52 countries worldwide have operated the new e-service, according to an IATA statement.
