AMMAN — A spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said on Monday that detainees from Sunday’s anti-Israel protests
were released in the early hours of Monday.
Lawyer Rami Ishaq has said earlier that he was informed by
the head of the Shmeisani police precinct that 31 people who were protesting at
Amman’s Rabieh neighborhood, near the Israeli embassy, were detained at the
time, following the release of two minors.
Thousands of Jordanians again took part in two rallies in
Amman on Sunday, in support for Palestine against the ongoing Israeli aggression in
Jerusalem and Gaza.
Sunday’s protests saw considerable friction between
protesters and security personnel, and saw the use of alleged police force,
protesters reported.
